How To Properly Decorate Your Living Room

Figuring out how to decorate your living room can be challenging. It can almost be like a jigsaw puzzle, as you are trying to get everything to fit nicely. However, there are many different layouts you can follow that make it much easier. This way, you know exactly what will work best for your space.

So, let’s go over some layouts that will help you decorate your living room.

Twin Sofas

This layout revolves around two sofas facing one another. Typically there is a coffee table separating the two. This is a quite traditional living room. It provides a significant amount of sitting space for family and friends. It is very cozy and works year round. The seating area is not centred around a television, which is great for a conversational atmosphere as well.

TV Zone

These spaces are based around your television. You tend to have a couch directly across from your TV or fireplace wall. This is a great area for you to sit and enjoy your favourite shows or movies after a long day. It is a very comfortable layout, but sometimes there are not as many spaces for sitting. To enhance this layout, you can add a chair or two beside the couch for extra seating.

Double Duty

This layout gives you the best of both worlds. It works if you have an open layout in your home. You have one area with a sofa directly across from the TV, for a TV zone. A few feet away from that, there are a few chairs facing each other for a more conversational environment. This way, you can choose which layout works best depending on any given situation. You can accentuate your conversational area by adding an area rug for more details.
